So school is great, school is fabulous, whatever. Had a semi-awkward conversation with Desmond today for AN HOUR. Lots of questions about my love life. You know, my non existent love life. He kept asking "So, who do you like romantically?" It was painstakingly bad ya'll. Then I talked about Jesus, because everyone needs Jesus, and can we not talk about this?
I pack my lunch now. So very responsible.
I have to talk about Acting II, because it is amazing. At the sound advice of my friend Tommy Cooley, I volunteered first for Psychological Gestures. Basically, I was me on stage as she asked question after question, helped me find the layers of my character, etc. This is not important. What I had to do is.
She made me: crawl across the floor and hide in the curtains while she screamed for me to GET AWAY. Then I had to come grab the wall and kick it, to reflect being "pis*ed." THEN she made me throw a chair off the stage, to represent my power. I proceeded to crack said chair (more on its fate later.), then I dropped to the floor in embarrassment. After that, I had to run up the stairs of Hoey representing "climbing rocks," [basically, how I'm alone and I like it], and then to represent "happy," I did the Rocky thing of achievement.
And yes, they hummed the Rocky theme as I ran up the stairs.
Claire has made us do some awesomely horrid things for Psych Gestures. Andrew had to throw my chair, and if I made a dent in it, he destroyed it. He'd throw it and it would - literally- explode. The frame was bent something awful, and the base was gone. She made this other kid, [Johnny - he's British] dig through trash to feel "disgusted," and there were dip bottles in that trash. Then they lifted him and put his head in the bag. This other kid had to jump of the panting scaffold. Ya'll, acting is intense. Intensely awesome.
I say that now. Wait until I write the entry about crying after Acting and about how I will forever fail at life.
Saw Reasons to be Pretty last night. Lets discuss:
I liked it. A lot. There was plenty I didn't like, but there was plenty I did. This show was invariably better than Romantic Fools. And it wasn't the direction, it was just more so the material. Romantic Fools is the sort of material that you would find in a high-school boy's locker room; Reasons is what you'd find in CosmoGirl. If I read CosmoGirl. And I don't; because I'm not a regular girl. And CosmoGirl doesn't have wizards.
SO, this aside, I liked it. The language is phenomenally bad. I heard more cuss words in those two hours than I think I have on the 10 years I rode the school bus. If you're at all familiar with a school bus, you understand. The acting was pretty super though; somethings I didn't like, but all in all, I did.
It didn't have much of a plot; it was more so just the lives of people and how they are effected by things that they do. And it gets into that whole "loving yourself" thing and how beauty isn't everything, so the message was marvy.

And yes, that's the girl who was in the Queso commercial.
Okay, let's talk about what I do when I'm not working on mes devoirs, blogging, or everything else, because I have to talk about these things, and this is my blog so I'll do it, I WILL DO IT. Besides, Alex understands, this I know.
The Hunger Games movie is to be released March 23, 2011. Do you guys realize how little time that is? Do you feel my excitement? Well you should, because it's much nearer than I expected and I am very, very, VERY excited. So, remember my sentiments last time on that really hot guy I wanted to play Peeta?
They want him too.
Well, when I say, they I mean those people who may be doing the movie. See, all the little fangirls want him to play in that dinky series I was telling you about earlier, The Mortal Instruments. They insist on this guy named Hunter Parrish to play Peeta:
Yeah, that's great if you want to cast gremlins or something. I'm cool with that.
Seriously, if this guy gets it, I may not go. I'm sure he's a terrific actor, but he doesn't look like Peeta and NO. I SAY NO. Not to mention he reminds me of my friend Brandon, and Brandon is gay and I don't want to be desiring him on screen. DO NOT DO THIS HOLLYWOOD.
PLEASEEEEEEEEEE.
I'm reading The Subtle Knife right now. It's the sequel to The Golden Compass. I know people say that the book is anti-Christian and stuff; but I refuse to believe it until I've decided for myself. After all, Harry Potter is wrongly judged as such, so whose to say His Dark Materials isn't as well? The Golden Compass was fantastic and Lyra is me, and, um, Where is my dæmon? Gah, if I had one of those my life would be complete. I was really mad/sad/happy at the ending; sooooo good.
Anyway, I went to WCU to check out the sequel, and I want to prove to you how I seriously found the worst edition ever.
There are several editions of The Subtle Knife:
Look at this one! If features a cute cat, and it looks intriguing! The cover has a nice pallet, and, in general, I think a cover such as this would entice anyone. This is probably my favourite edition. The cat on the cover may or may not factor into this opinion.
This is the second best edition. Classic pastels that give the book a very Harry Potter child appealing feel. It's sophisticated yet fun, and children and adults alike do not look dinky reading it.
This one is not bad at all. Look, it has an fun and alluded image at the top. You can't make it out, but it has an air of fantasy and fun. The title is festive. This is a book anyone could be caught reading, and they would gladly explain what it was about. It's fantastic.
Here is where we get into "bad cover" territory, BUT not quite. This cover should be found in the book section at Ingles, between Her Secret Secret and Dark Curse of the Moon. It even has the "I am a cheap romance book" font on the cover, with a scarlet backdrop. Bad marketing, bad. [Although I'm sure Ingles is exactly where I'd find this edition, so maybe it was good marketing?]
This is almost there. Weird Photoshop-ing, awkward muscular guy who is definitely not 12 holding a knife and there are some bubbles. Oh, and there is an eagle. No lie, it's bad. But, it could be worse, as I will prove with the final edition, and hence forth, the worse edition I have ever seen, and ironically enough, then one I have. It's probably rarer than all these covers put together. *sigh* Prepare now.
...
AHHHHHHHGGGGGHHHH.
THE MONKEY. THE UGLY GUY WITH THE BAD 90S HAIR CUT. HIS EYE. CATCH THE SINGULAR USE OF THAT WORD. THE LETTERS SHINE TOO. AH. AH.
The monkey represents my disgust at this cover. This is how I looked when I look at this book.
(Oh, and "hey there Mulan!")
Guys, no doubt, this is the worst cover of all times. When I was looking for it in the library, I literally picked it up and gagged a little. I hid it against myself and crossed my arms over it so no one would have to see the humiliation I felt. I almost went to the public library to see if I could find a prettier copy, and I have yet to read the first chapter, because it humiliates me so. It's taken me about a week to pick it up again, but guys, it's so baddd.
It may be ridiculous to feel this way over an innocent book cover; but the instant someone sees you with something like this, they think you play Dungeons and Dragons or something.
So, after I finished The Golden Compass, I did not read The Subtle Knife, because I had to take a moment to recoup and not feel guilty about reading from something so ugly. Instead, I read the latest installment in the House of Night series:
Oh lordy. SO. Although the cover is bad it's not BAD like my other example. It's not really that bad, it just makes me feel like I probably own a Team Edward hoodie or something and they call me "Kitty."
Discuss? [This is for Alex - Spoilers, so WAIT TO READ!]:
Um, you'll find this in your several notes penciled in your book. Some say, "Oh...okay?" Other discuss how strongly I hate the word (or lack thereof) "boolpoopie." OTHERS, as you will find near the very end of the book, express every emotion I ever have that are notated in nothing less than glee.
HEATH LIVESSSSSS... sort of. But this is all I care about. And I'm pretty glad with what happens to Stevie Rae and Rephaim. Otherwise it wasn't that good.
This is all.
